Good morning, Las Vegas. This five-day stretch is punishingly hot, even by August standards. The useful plans start early, move indoors by lunch, or wait until the sun is down.
In today's Northwest Digest:
What three northwest libraries do best
Two close-to-home farm stops
Twenty local bands on Monday
Let's get to it.

The Libraries of the Northwest
The northwest has three useful libraries, and each one seems to have quietly picked a specialty.
Summerlin is the arts branch. It has galleries, a performing arts center, a 3D printer, and a lab that can help preserve old photos and home movies. You can return a mystery novel, see an exhibit, and rescue a family VHS tape in the same trip.
Centennial Hills is built for getting work done. Its Homework Help Center offers computers, free printing, supplies, and staff help when available. Add a computer center, a quiet room, and study rooms, and it becomes a much better answer than another afternoon negotiating for space at the kitchen table.
Sahara West is the heavyweight: 122,000 square feet, two art galleries, nine study rooms, and an EmployNV Business Hub for job seekers and small-business owners. It also has a legal-information kiosk and a teen 3D printer. This is the branch for the task that has outgrown a corner desk.
A fourth branch may eventually reach farther northwest. The city's Northwest Regional Park plan leaves room for a potential library, but no library construction schedule or opening date has been announced. For now, it is a possibility on a plan, not a place to return books.

Northwest Briefing
🚌 Northwest bus routes change Sunday. RTC is rebuilding the Centennial Express when its Aug. 23 service change takes effect. The CX will add stops near the Rainbow Curve, run every 30 minutes during weekday daytime hours, and use a revised route between Bonneville Transit Center and South Strip Transit Terminal. Northwest routes 106 (Rancho/Centennial Hills), 120 (Fort Apache/Rampart) and 121 (Durango/Buffalo) also get new schedules. If you ride this weekend or commute Monday, check your exact departure before leaving; fares are unchanged.
🍕 Jet's lands at Durango and Farm. The Detroit-style pizza chain has opened at 8426 Farm Road, Suite 110, on the northeast corner. Jet's official locator marks the 89131 shop new and lists hours of 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is the chain's third Southern Nevada location.
🎃 Spirit Halloween takes the old Whole Foods. The seasonal retailer has claimed 8855 W. Charleston Boulevard. Its official page says the pop-up opens in August, but the store is still listed closed and no exact date is posted. It fills the dark storefront for spooky season, not as a permanent grocery replacement.

Skincare built by longevity scientists — not marketers
Most skincare addresses what happens after your skin ages: the appearance of wrinkles, loss of visible firmness, and dullness. But four PhD longevity scientists asked a different question: what if you could target the cellular process that causes visible aging in the first place?
Their answer is OS-01, the first peptide scientifically proven to address senescent cells — the damaged "zombie cells" that accumulate with age and accelerate visible skin decline. The result: the first topical clinically validated to address visible skin aging at the source. In a double-blind 12-week clinical study of OS-01 FACE:
100% of users showed improved overall appearance
96% improved visible firmness
87% showed improvement in the appearance of wrinkles
Barrier strength improved 15%
This isn't skincare with better marketing. It's skincare with better science. And real results.
