Star-Gazing Events This Week in Las Vegas

Good morning, Las Vegas. This week we say goodbye to our favorite visitor, the Goodyear Blimp. Still we keep our heads to the stars as we have multiple constellation viewing events to check out this weekend.

Skye & Stargazing

Skye Canyon is celebrating international Astronomy Day by partnering with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society for the 11th annual Skye & Stars stargazing event.

The event takes place at Skye Canyon Park from 6 to 10 pm this Saturday and constellation viewing will begin after sunrise, starting at 8pm. You needn’t bring a telescope as the LVAS will have several available for public viewing.

The event is perfect for an evening picnicking with the whole family with food trucks, music, and lawn games abound. Nicknack collectors rejoice, as part of the THRIVE event series you can collect a limited edition event pin or enter a raffle for a chance to win an AWB OneSkye Telescope.

Industrial strength spotlights are discouraged.

Tuesday

Get moving with Pilates put on by Fitness on the Lawn at Downtown Summerlin starting at 7pm sharp. Get there early to snag a spot.

Wednesday

The GIANT Student Farmers Market takes over The Lawn at DTS offering students a chance to sell the produce they grew while learning STEM in Green Our Planet’s programs. Celebrate your local Farmpreneurs!

Thursday

Thursday is the new Friday, celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Red Rock Casino by dancing the night away at Rouge Room where More Techno Less Drama will bring the vibes for the night

Friday

Watch the Las Vegas Aviators avoid the sting of the Salt Lake Bees and take advantage of the free Aviators Crew Sweatshirt giveaway, but hurry as numbers are limited. Gates open at 5:30pm

Join the BLM and Red Rock Conservation area with a night of stargazing. Park ranger Michael Mathes will guide you through the evolution of the stars across the universe. Join at the visitor from 7-10pm.

Saturday

The Paiute Spring Festival opens to the public from 10am - 3pm. Come and celebrate Paiute culture with a variety of native dance and song groups or support the community by purchasing handcrafted items from their craft market.

Sunday

Enjoy an easy Sunday afternoon with the Classics book club at the Centennial Hills Library from 3-5pm where will they be discussing both The Crucible by Arthur Miller and White Fang by Jack London.

Monday

Enjoy an evening of classical music performed by the LV Classical Ragtime Orchestra and led by Jimmy Cisneros at the Starbright Theater
